The gifts big and small are forever to be treasured,
Not in any material standards can they be measured!
People may deny in all humility,
But gifts are desired in all totality.
By handsome men and beautiful lasses,
And old and young from all social classes.
Rich and poor alike are attracted,
And in no way can they be distracted;
From waiting sometimes fruitlessly,
For souveneirs albeit shamelessly,
The object of wait can be useless,
But we continue- the wait, nevertheless.
On our birthdays and anniversaries,
We all wait for those colourful fantasies.
Which come covered in golden and silken;
In varied shapes, hues: yellow and crimson.
The tiny tots are especially excited,
They receive guests with eyes fixeted,
Until the parcels in hand are safely deposited
in their outstretched hands when greeted.
The most risky give and take of presents,
Cultivating high powered resents,
Is of course between man and wife,
A green wound unhealed for life.
The surprise gifts are the most coveted,
The tiny and the lavish are all mentally noted,
The magnanimous gift- givers are highly doted,
Getting first rank in invitations gloriously floated.
We all crave for gifts, but few vehemently admit!
It’s human, so don’t worry we have universal permit!!
