- 10 interesting ways to unleash your hidden creativity. - July 4, 2020
Everyone has an innate ability to think and create. But, as we grow up, we start comparing ourselves with others and worry more about the other’s opinions. We don’t dare to accept rejection. This timidity buries one’s creativity. Burying creativity means hiding your talents from the world and losing the capacity to think outside the box. So, you need to realize and keep your creativity awaken all the time.
Here comes a list of interesting ways that can help you in unlocking your creativity:
1)Visualize your feelings on a white paper.
Expressing our feelings in the form of words is a natural thing. But, when you try to visualize your feelings on a white paper, you think of your favorite cartoon character, or you might run a story in the mind, or express your feelings in the form of colors, or even sometimes end up with filling the paper with whatever comes to your mind. The more specific you want to express, the more you think of creating characters. Practicing this way helps you in sharpening your mind and boosting your creativity.
2) Freak-out yourself.
Have you ever observed? Most of the ideas you generate come when u are in the most unusual places like a bathtub, garden area, or on the top of your terrace. This is because these places let you get disconnected from the outside world and drive your mind through freakish thoughts. And, exploring unknown places once in a while, will open your blocked brain and help you in finding innovative solutions for every problem by indulging the new fragrances, new beliefs, and new perspectives in your life.
3) Allow your brain to wander around new thoughts.
When you allow your brain to wander, it wanders around an imaginary world and brings you a collection of thoughts. Make a list of every thought your brain suggests to you. Do not deter your brain for suggesting hundreds of crazy ideas. You might get one remarkable idea out of those hundred. Even the biggest innovation in this world was once a crazy idea in someone’s head where no one believed its existence.
4) Try to engage more with the kids.
Kids are more creative because they lead a carefree life and do not limit themselves from imagining. For example: When you give anything to a kid and ask what all they can do with that, the answers they give out of their imagination are unexpected. When you engage more with the kids, you’ll be able to realize that there are many possibilities for a single problem and try to find out the alternatives in a distinct way.
5) Have a power nap in between your work.
Taking a power nap while you work makes your sub-conscious mind connect with your unrelated dreams and helps in putting your creative thinking abilities in place. This isn’t surprising if you’ve ever slept with an unsolved problem and woke up with a creative solution in hand. This is because your brain has worked on connecting all the possibilities in decoding your problem.
Have you heard this that by taking a power nap of 10 minutes before you write an exam, you will be able to memorize all the answers you read? Strange, but TRUE!
6) Use your wrong hand for writing 15-20 minutes a day.
As we all know, our brain functions in a criss-cross manner. Only one-side of our brain is active as most of us use our dominant hand for all the major works. But, to keep both sides of our brain active, our non-dominant hand has to be trained to perform tasks. Practicing writing with the opposite hand will let you open the creative and analytical sides of your brain.
Activating both sides of the brain helps an individual in enhancing creativity and looking at solutions from a unique perspective by using lateral thinking, i.e, generating ideas to solve a problem in a creative way.
7) Try to find multiple uses of everyday things.
Every object in this universe can be used for multiple purposes. But, as we stick to the regular use of an object, we don’t think of using it the other way. So, we should perpetually work on finding out the variant uses of an object, irrespective of its productive use. DIY’s are the best example of working this way.
You can speed up your creative power by training your mind this way.
8) Work on incomplete patterns.
Working on incomplete figures like puzzles, patterns, and drawings, etc. will help your brain to think about the other side of a figure. Not everyone will think alike. The perception of analyzing the pattern differs from person to person. You yourself will think in multiple ways at different times! This will create varied patterns and can surprise you even!!
9) Watch others.
A person becomes more creative when they watch others being very creative. Not because of imitating but because of rewiring the brain to think in the other way.
Sometimes you learn and sometimes you might discover a new way to do it.
10) Be curious enough.
Curiosity is the best thing one should never lose in their lifetime to learn something or try additional things. Never let the child within you die because it is the real you who has never compared your with anyone else or bombarded you with awkward questions.
Do not bother about what others will think of your ideas. The great inventors never bothered or asked anyone if their idea will work out. They believed and followed their idea and made the world to follow theirs.
Don’t let the unique creator present in you go unnoticed.
